10 November 2006¶ What happened here?

At one point, I thought I’d make 12 Easy Pieces into some extra-money-making venture, capable of earning enough money to buy new cameras and such. I spent way too long making the site look like it was made by a bunch of poorly-educated, underpaid, unprofessional designers. My opinion, of course. I succeeded in that front marvelously.

But the site never made any real money. OK, it did make a bit, but never enough that the google people sent me any of it. There’s still $82 waiting for me at GoogleHQ, wishing someone would bump it up $18 so the check could be sent my way. But unloved, no one clicked enough ads to make it worthwhile.

The old design had a ginormous header graphic and an equally ginormous footer. Why? Because I thought they looked important and professional. Now, since I am posting so irregularly, it just looks crass and cheap.

So here’s the new plan: I will post when I feel like it, about whatever I want. You can come back if you want. If I start to post more frequently, maybe I’ll spruce things up around here. For now, we’re going for spartan chic.

Oh, you clicked on the “about” link and were expecting something about me? I’m Jeffrey Windsor, a PhD student who really doesn’t have time to be messing about on blogs. But it works for procrastination, which is sometimes a sanity saving thing. Have something to say? Email me to talk about it.
