¶ Now more irrelevant than ever
I’m not sure what’s going to happen with the RSS feed for this blog: you might (yet again) get a glut of old stuff that I’ve transfered over from another blog. I had a separate reading log that I (occasionally) kept online: it was a good idea but I wasn’t very consistent about it. It helped when I did it, but I just didn’t do it very often. Out of sight, out of mind — you know.
I decided today to move it over. Yes, it will be very boring for most of you, but it will be (might be?) interesting to a few. Of course, to the potential interested few in my reading, you have to put up with my non-scholarly posts which might either bore you or make you uncomfortable with the insight into my personal life. As a result, I expect to have an audience that continually approaches zero. Will I reach it?
Frankly, I’m not that concerned about it. I might not do much better with my reading log over here, either, and so it might be a short-lived experiment. Or I might find it refreshing and you’ll see my volume shoot up. Either way, my goals for the site are unaffected. That is, of course, because I have no goals for reach or audience for 12 easy pieces. My only goal is to write consistently and pretend that people — yes, you, dear friends — are still reading.
Well, that and I want to get over a hundred dollars so I can kill the ads on the site. I won’t take them down until I earn just six more dollars. I think my weekly average is just about $0.02, so it might be a while before that happens. If you were to click a couple of ads right now, it would encourage me to rejigger the site and get rid of them, you know. Think of how good that will feel.
